Descendants of Deceased Adopted Persons (DAP) Campaign Update - 9/11/11
BAAF has recently been informed that its proposed project on the legal anomalies affecting descendants of deceased adopted peoples’ access to information was not included in the final list of projects for the Law Commission’s Eleventh Programme of Law Reform solely due to Commission’s lack of resources.
The group will however continue to raise awareness about the situation affecting descendents of adopted people and to campaign for a change in the law.

Please visit the DAP campaign page for further details about this proposed project and a renewed call for information and personal experiences from anyone who:
  • Has been unable to obtain birth details of their deceased adopted parents or older relatives;
  • Has obtained the information about their deceased adopted parent or relatives from, for example, the original Court where the adoption order was made or from the adoption agency involved in the adoption arrangements;
  • Would like to know how they can become involved in the campaign.
