BBC Documentary on Adoption and Facebook - 24/5/11
BBC3 are making a documentary which will look at the ways in which tracing of birth relatives has been affected by the advent of Facebook and other social media and are looking for people who'd like to be involved in the project.

The documentary will be fronted by Jono Lancaster, who has appeared in two previous films for the channel, Love Me Love My Face and So What if My Baby is Born Like Me. Jono was himself adoptedĀ and has recently had contact with members of his extended birth family over the internet.

If your experience of adoption has in some way been affected by social media, then BBC3 would love to hear from you. Perhaps you are thinking about tracing your birth mother/father through the site? Maybe you have already traced your parent(s) via the Internet? Or maybe you have been contacted by a sibling you never knew you had.

If you are interested, please contact assistant producer Joe Fowler on joe@specialeditionfilms.com or 0208 960 1446. Talking in no way obligates you to be a part of the programme and all contact will be treated both sensitively and confidentially.
