New books added to recommended reading lists - 14/3/06
Two new books giving authobiographical accounts of adoption and reunions with birth relatives have been added to the recommended reading lists.
Love Child by Sue Elliot gives an account of the author's life as an adopted children and her search for her birth mother Marjorie. This moving story is interweaved with a history of adoption legislation and policy in the 20th Century, which shows how much attitudes and practice have changed in the last 100 years.
Love Child has just been published in paperback format and can be purchased from the publisher Random House or from Amazon.

Family Wanted: Adoption Stories edited by Sara Holloway is a collection of mostly autobiographical stories from adoptive parents, adopted people and birth mothers. This anthology looks at adoption from all perspectives and reveals the whole range of adoption experiences.
