Descendants of Deceased Adopted Persons new petition - 09/07/09
The Descendants of Deceased Adopted Persons campaign has launched a second petition on the Prime Minister's Office website.

The second petition has been submitted to the Number 10 website following the failure of the first petition, which closed in April this year. The new petition calls on the Prime Minister to grant descendants of deceased adopted persons the same rights as birth relatives under the Adoption and Children Act 2002 and can be found at http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/descendants/ The deadline for signing the petition is 25th December 2009.

Further Information:
The government response to the first petition can be read on the Number 10 website.

Answers to some frequently asked questions about access to birth records for descendants of deceased adopted people are provided on the Locating Records section.
